According to Rezidue comments lifted from form YoutubeThanks Everybody.. This is Rezidue. Some facts about this song unknown to the public..This record was recorded at Database Studio in the Bronx New York in 1996. Originally the music for Boogie Down's Got The Flavor was intended to be an R&B song for a female singer but while in the studio her brother Ramel came up with that chorus and changed the direction of the song to hip hop. Foundation happen to call the studio during the session and came right to the studio. Ramel left before he we laid the vocals which is why he's not on the song and why there's only two verses instead of three. But Ramel was expected to return to lay the second part of the chorus which named different parts of The Bronx but he never returned to the studio and the song was picked up by Buds Distribution and released in 1996.
thanks for sharing the insight, very interesting! three more words
This right here is one incredible 12". For me the track "Boogie Down's Got The Flavor" is the clear reason why this is such an awesome record. this song has it all: awesome raps and lyrics and a beat that is outta this world,...super spaced out laid back-ish. This record is on so many wantlists for a good reason, beeing one of the best hip hop 12"es in existince!!..and for an indie rap record that is thought after, the price is still aiight ;)
