Peace to thedude90 for the heads up..................................... In this bass-heavy Def Jam classic from 1986, Doctor Dre and T-Money (future presenters of Yo MTV Raps along with Ed Lover) play two Long Island B-Boys riding the bus around town checking out the local crews.Public Enemy, the Beastie Boys, Russell Simmons, and Rick Rubin all get shouts, as well as a few Strong Island radio personalities. This beat was recycled by Masta Ace for “Born to Roll”. The Trouble Funk style breakdown near the end is from Queen’s “Dragon Attack”. ............... Now onto my own experience MISTER_DIA-TRIBE_73 In my experience in all those days/years back. I remember hearing this inter-mixed by Nomis Sirrah AKA Simon Harris on a radio show hosted by MIKE ALLEN... Onsight you would have thought this older DJ was like Tony Blackburn and I couldn't agree more? But this DJ whether manipulated or not played some of the best releases in Hip Hop that would influence me and others into LOVING this DIY art form! RIP Mike Allen... Peace because knowledge means everything in the most abstract of ways... Also, this track influenced G DOUBLE E As for Can You Feel It? 3:52PLUSX-tra Beats 2:02Those tunes are fucking amazing! As for the build before that first STAB!BANG!Tramps get on UP! !
JoldGold whole conversation.
Knowledge Me = obscenely prescient bass track as sampled by Masta Ace on 'Born To Roll'Phat 808 beats with thin keyboard bass played live on top : )If you don't already have it, get one in today!
Also don't forget it was also sampled by ..... ;) PsA massive shout out to the person who put me onto this! Big up! ;)
I have three copies of this record, and it seems as if they pressed this up twice. All three copies have the exact same labels, but on two copies, they have "Can You Feel It" on the A-side, having XSS-174960-A etched in the runout. On the other copy, they have the same etching on the "Knowledge Me" side. Also, 1 copy has a sticker on the shrink wrap, and they list "Can You Feel It" B/W "Knowledge Me" in that order, so one would have to assume they made a mistake on the copies where they list "Knowledge Me" on the A-side, and then corrected it.
Although the Catologue Number (Not Label NO.) puts 'Can You Feel It?' in front of 'Knowledge Me' it is in fact the B side according to the Runout Groove
