Excelent EP, IMHO one of the best for 2015, "Madatory" is my track!
Very solid productions on this one, but Come Around is the outstanding track for me.
Part 2 is coming.
When something is released on Amphia you know you'll be getting the goods, and this first album release on the label does not disappoint. This maybe isn't as "minimal" as we've come to expect from Caia and Cons, but how is that a bad thing? This album is the most straight-ahead dance-orientated release from either of them, but it hasn't lost any of that impeccable sense of production skills they possess, and the album flows flawlessly from beginning to end. They save the best for last with track "Come Around" which continues to evolve and introduce new moods and ideas through its 15-minute duration. It has a certain old-school vibe surrounding it which is countered perfectly with a relevance and intensity that will get modern dancefloors moving and shaking with ease. I think anyone not "getting" or appreciating this album because it sounds different than their past input is missing the point entirely. If you don't like an album because it was "not what you expected", savor that feeling, don't fight it -- this means you have more learning to do. This means your mind is a little closed off and needs music like this to open it up a little. Caia and Cons aren't satisfied with repeating themselves as no artist should be. This is the natural progression of their efforts culminated in one double LP, and it sounds incredibly fresh and enticing. Much dance music is sloppily put together to impact dancefloors for a very finite amount of time, however, Caia and Cons ensure through their attention to detail that this album will stand the test of time, and work on a dancefloor, or at home with headphones on. There have been a lot of top notch electronic albums released this year, and along with Petre Inpirescu's release on Mule Musiq, this is one of the best of the year without a doubt.
Thank you for your bright comment, this is the reason why I love Discogs and its users.
This release is not what I expected from this Label. As an ardent fan of it and the two artist who make up SIT, my expectations were defined by listening to everything they have produced before. The songs on this release are more in the vein of House music, with a touch of breaks here and there. The Production quality is top, but the music is a different cup of tea. Again, being a fan of these two artists and this moniker, my hope was for a master class in the sounds and esthetics I have come to love and respect. If you are a DJ, then this double lp will probably yield some great tools for your set, and it will get the listeners feet moving and faces smiling. To be fair, every SIT release has shown a different side of their joint production skills, and this release is a slice of a ever developing musical pie. I will continue to be a fan and await more releases by these two music producers.
it's been a huge pleasure listing to come around on rj's audio martin soundsystem
thanks for releasing all the good ones from the past years :Dmultumesc frumos
What part of my personal (re)view am I "wrong" about? Thanks.
You're wrong, Adam. Your reviews have always been a bit sweeping and general, so I'm not surprised with your summation, but listen to it a little more and give this some more thought.

I respect your opinion. I really do. I like to think it's a diverse album split across three parts, with music that can be played out and some tracks can be listened at home. It's not conceptual/experimental, we don't want to push any boundaries nor reach any new heights in this direction. It's not an audiophile's wet dream either. It's straight up house, techno whatever you want to call it groovy (I would also dare to say fun too) dance music that has to be experienced with others in a dance floor setting. I would also like to put emphasis on the amount of work that went into making this whole album. Everything that you hear has been recorded live using synths, drum machines, outboard pedals and effects, in single stereo mix takes during the period of over an year and a half. These tracks have been tried and played during our sets and our friend's sets and our live performances. We used this feedback to shape all this material in the most coherent track list possible covering a large palette of moods and variations of genres (if we can call it that). Long hours have been spent to edit every single track so it fits perfectly with the rest of the tracks one plays out. This takes an incredible amount of time and work with many edit iterations and versions not taking in account the effort to keep that "live" recording structure versus the more rigid intro-break-outro structure of a track. Is this hat or that single bass note louder and it just pops out annoyingly? Better redo the edit or re-record the whole track... If after a couple of hours we have the feeling that everything is right on this particular track, it's time to play it out the next weekend and test it out on every sound system possible. After this lengthy process is done, it's time to attend the mastering sessions and together with the engineer work out the final sound tweaks. I'm not even going to talk about the management between working the artwork with several color versions and designs, keeping in contact with the distribution, pressing plants, re-checking the test prints... Heavy weight 180? It's the logical step after this amount of work and effort and I deeply consider that you as a listener deserve this. As I said earlier I totally respect your opinion and I rarely post on the web. Now I felt compelled to present you my personal view from this other side as best as I could with hope that you take it in consideration while writing a review. Best, Vlad
Hey man, I did... multiple times on a hi-fi tube amp , sl-10 turntable and MC cartridge. It really plays out like basic house music, and one track of breaks. I am a fan of all your other work and have recommended many of your releases to friends and work partners. Your solo work is also brilliant. In some ways, releasing this lp on Amphima also sets a certain bar, as no other release on this (your ) label is remotely strait forward like this album is. Every other release on Amphima is boundary pushing, this lp is not.
Maybe you should give it a closer listen...
